Donna Stroup
Dr. Donna Stroup has had a long and distinguished career dedicated to improving public health worldwide. Coming from a background in statistical analysis and research design, Dr. Stroup has brought an innovative approach to the problems of managing community health organizations. Dr. Donna Stroup founded and is President of Data for Solutions, Inc., a company that provides skilled analysis for complex problems through both conventional and innovative research methodologies and offers training in epidemiology and intermediate and advanced biostatistics.
Through Data for Solutions, Dr. Donna Stroup has consulted for the United Nations organization UNAIDS, tasked with providing universal access to prevention, treatment, and care of acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) and support services. As Senior Consultant to UNAIDS, Dr. Donna Stroup brought to the job expertise gained from a career as a professional analyst and scientist on training, protocol development, design, and execution. Her education in statistics and data processing was instrumental in contributing to scientific reports for measuring sizes of populations considered to be at high risk for HIV/AIDS transmission. In addition to consulting with national and international foundations, Data for Solutions also works for many academic and pharmaceutical clients by managing and directing comprehensive literature reviews and assessing the effectiveness and safety of common drugs and medical procedures.
Dr. Donna Stroup has worked extensively at advancing educational programs for the biostatistical methodology she pioneered. She developed and managed courses in biostatistics and epidemiology at the College of Public Health at the University of Georgia. Also, Dr. Stroup created and taught graduate courses in biostatistics and surveillance at Emory University's Rollins School of Public Health, where she is a member of the adjunct faculty. Dr. Stroup developed the graduate program in advanced biostatistics for population health management at St. George's University in Grenada, West Indies, which emphasizes the interpretation of published research, the knowledge of health data available for decisions, and evidence-based medical practice.
