Dagmar Kusiak
As an Online Learning Specialist at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB), Dagmar Kusiak draws from nearly a decade of experience in utilizing technology to improve education. Ms. Kusiak's current role involves implementing the Learning Management System and creating syllabi, videos, tests, and assignments via online templates and through her creative skills. Over the course of her career, Dagmar Kusiak has developed her skills in creating curriculum, designing learning and performance management infrastructures, designing innovative solutions for students to learn, and conducting research towards system improvement.
During her career, Dagmar Kusiak has acted as a Distance Learning and Course Developer as well as a Distance Learning Math Instructor for Kirkwood Community College's Iowa City campus, and as an IT Instructor for the main Kirkwood campus in Cedar Rapids. She recently joined UTMB as a Business Analyst, a position in which she drafts comprehensive business reports, acquires and implements beneficial software, and introduces social media initiatives. She has also served as an IT Specialist with Iowa State University in Ames.
Dagmar Kusiak earned Bachelors of Science in Computer Science and Mathematics and a Master of Arts in Management Information Systems from the University of Iowa. Seeking to bolster her skills in education technology, Dagmar Kusiak returned to school in 2010. As a candidate for a Master of Science in Instructional Design and Technology at the University of Houston-Clear Lake, she received a scholarship from Dollars for Scholars. Ms. Kusiak is a member of the Texas Computer Education Association, Women in Science and Engineering, the National Society of Leadership and Success, and the International Society for Technology in Education. In her spare time, Ms. Kusiak enjoys playing tennis and appearing at forums hosted by Toastmasters International, a highly regarded public speaking group.
